5 Tips for Styling Your Barn Wedding

One of the most classic venues for a wedding is a barn. If you are considering holding your wedding and reception at a barn wedding venue, there are steps you can take to elevate the experience. You can still enjoy a little glamour while also ending a cozy and down-to-earth setting.

1. Use the Ceilings

One of the great things about barns is that they have high ceilings, which allows for a lot of decoration options. With high ceilings, you can drape fabric downward or across the top of the ceiling. You can hang chandeliers coming down from the ceiling, or you can add twinkling lights. You can use the ceiling to add a little more elegance and intimacy to the event space.

2. Use Seasonal Elements

As you are getting married in a naturally connected space to change seasons, consider using seasonal elements in your decorating choices. Use flowers that are in seasons. Add things that fit with whatever season you are getting married in, be it pinecones in the fall or holly in the winter. Embrace whatever is naturally in season to go with the natural décor and feel of a barn wedding.

3. Dress Up the Entrance

With a barn wedding, you will have a big entrance to the venue. Be sure to plan to dress up the entrance. Dressing up the entrance will help establish the feeling of your wedding. For example, you can add taller flower arrangements on either side of the entrance. You can add drapes to the side of the entrance as well. Over the top of the entrance is a great place to display a sign with the name of the newlyweds as well.

4. Go with Seasonal Cuisine

Embrace the seasonal trend further and serve seasonal cuisine at the event as well. Work with local farmers and restaurants and build a menu that is full of local seasonal flavor. This will help ensure that the food at your wedding is fresh and tasty and can also help lower your food costs. When you work with seasonal ingredients, you will not have to pay the higher costs associated with sourcing out-of-seasoning ingredients.

5. Always Add Flowers

One of the best ways to decorate the space is by adding flowers. Once again, go with in-season flowers, so you can source them locally and save some money as well. Flowers are beautiful and can serve as your primary decorating element for your wedding.

With a barn wedding, embrace the seasonal by using seasonal decorating elements, food, and flowers at your barn wedding, to embrace the natural and local feeling of having a barn wedding.
